Welcome to T. Brooks Web Design LLC

I've been a web designer for small businesses since 1998, providing hand-coded website design, online marketing, social media, and search engine optimization (SEO) services. Located in Mt. Laurel NJ, I serve South Jersey, the New Jersey Tri‑State area, and the entire U.S.

When you hire me to build your website, we'll most likely end up working together for years. Web design is not a "set it and forget it" type service. Google search algorithms are constantly evolving, so online marketing of your company is an ongoing process. I take a personal approach to my web design related services, so if you have a question or a concern, or you need changes made, I'm just a phone call, email, or text message away.

My Web Design Clients

I provide web design and online marketing services for any company in the United States, but since I'm located in South Jersey, most of my web design clients happen to be in the New Jersey, Philadelphia, Delaware Valley, Northeast Tri‑State area.

I work mostly with small businesses, including "micro" businesses (one person company), but can work with ANY size company.

My "niche" industries are Construction, Landscaping and Well Drilling, and I'm VERY familiar with those industries, terminologies, and how consumers search for those services in your local area. However, I can and DO build websites for companies in ANY industry.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to build a website?

A web designer can build you a website anywhere from a few hours to several days or weeks. It depends on the size and style of the website, how many pages, the type of coding, if the domain name and hosting are set up, and other factors. No website should take months to build unless the web designer is waiting for content and approvals from you.

How much does a website cost?

The cost of a website can vary greatly, from $200 to $20,000 on up! At T. Brooks Web Design, a standard small business website can range from $599 to $2,500, on average. Most web designers don't publish specific prices online due to too many variables, and to discourage tire kickers and competitors. The more pages and customized coding, the more expensive. If the design of the website is outsourced to another country, or a template is used, the price will generally be cheaper, but the quality might not be good, and you can end up paying more in the long run. Read my blog on how much a website costs before you start shopping for a web designer.

How can I get my website to rank on Page One of Google?

There are many ways to get a website to rank on Page One of Google Search, some of which take knowledge, experience and skill, and some that are just common sense: provide original, high quality content on a fast loading website, with lots of text and pages. Search engine optimization (SEO), online marketing, backlinks, and social media activity are also strong Google Search ranking factors. Read my blogs about search engine optimization for details.

Why is my website so slow?

Template websites like WordPress, and websites with a lot of third-party add-ins, videos and un-optimized images, tend to be quite slow. Since website speed is a major Google Search ranking factor, your web designer should try to make your website as fast as possible. Hand-coded websites, websites with properly optimized images, and websites built by a skilled web designer who knows what they're doing, tend to be faster. Read more details about website page speed, how it affects search ranking, and how to measure your website speed.

How do I get my domain name back?

If your website was built by a web designer who owns your domain name, or set up by someone who no longer works at your company, you may be wondering how to get your domain name back or find the password to your web hosting and domain company. If you're able to get in touch with that person, just ask them for the account password or to transfer the domain name to you. If you can't get a hold of them, or you don't know who built your website, read my blog on how to get your domain name back for further steps.

How do I handle bad reviews?

If the review was left by an unhappy customer, call them and find out what you can do to resolve the issue. If you don't know who left the review, you may be able to log in and reply to it. Never argue or leave a rude reply no matter how unpleasant the review might be. In some cases, you may be able to have the review website remove the review. For details about customer reviews, how to avoid them, how to respond to them, and more, read my blog on how to handle negative customer reviews.

Google called me about my listings. Should I be concerned?

Google does not call business owners to try to sell their services! This is a well-known scam that has been going on for decades. Any company that claims to be Google, or associated with Google in any way, is a scammer. At best, you'll lose that $150 you pay for them to "improve your listings". At worst, they'll steal your credit card info. Read my blog for more details about Google business listing scams.

How can I get people to like my Facebook page?

You can ask your Facebook friends to like your company page, but ideally you want to get likes from people who don't already know your company exists. The more likes your Facebook page has, the more people will see content that you post to the page. A Facebook link on your website can help, but the best way to get likes to your Facebook page is through Facebook boosted posts and ads. Read details in my blog about how get Facebook Page likes.

“Teri had created an exceptional website for me. Not only was it clean and clear. It started to rank faster then expected.
